Dog Training FAQ

Mosaic K9 is a dog training business based in McKinney, Texas, serving the North Dallas suburbs, North DFW, and surrounding areas. I help owners with everything from puppy foundations and obedience to reactivity, aggression, bite history, recall, and dogs that feel hard to live with or hard to trust. The goal is not to make your dog look good for a lesson. The goal is to solve real problems and create change that holds up in daily life.

I’m DJ Busch, the owner and trainer behind Mosaic K9. I work directly with every client and every dog. My clients usually notice two things pretty quickly: I genuinely love dogs, and I’m going to be honest with you. I care a lot, I enjoy teaching, and I take a lot of pride in helping owners finally understand what their dog needs and how to lead them well.

The name has personal meaning to me. Faith in Jesus has been a major part of my life and a major part of the path that led me into doing this full time. The name “Mosaic” reflects that. It reminds me that God can take broken, messy, frustrating situations and build something beautiful and purposeful out of them.

A lot of dog training is built around getting obedience reps in controlled settings and hoping that somehow fixes the real problem. That is not how I work. I build training around the actual issue you came to me for, whether that is reactivity, aggression, chaos in the house, pulling, blowing off recall, or a dog that just feels out of control. Obedience matters, but it serves the bigger goal of solving the problem.

I’m based in McKinney and work throughout the North Dallas suburbs and North DFW, including McKinney, Plano, Frisco, Allen, Melissa, Anna, Sherman, Van Alstyne, Celina, Prosper, The Colony, true North Dallas, and nearby areas. I also offer virtual training for owners outside my in-person range.

The first step is a free evaluation. That gives me a chance to assess your dog, hear your goals, understand the problem clearly, and give you a real plan for moving forward. It also gives both of us a chance to make sure we’re a good fit.

We talk through your dog’s history, your goals, what life looks like right now, and what’s not working. I assess the dog, help you understand what I’m seeing, and lay out the best next step. My goal is for you to leave with clarity, a plan, and more hope than you had when you walked in.
