Crafting happy, confident, and purposeful lives for dogs and their owners
DJ's Story
Born during a time of loneliness and out of a deep need for connection, I began training dogs at the age of 14 when my mother surprised me with Panda — the first dog I could truly call my own. What started as a kid teaching his friend to sit and shake eventually turned into a fascination and a quest to understand the minds of dogs and what makes them tick. I wanted to understand how to get a dog to want to work with me rather than have to work for me. As someone who craves knowledge, understanding, and high performance, dog training allowed me to chase my desire for more — the learning never stops!

After many years, and much trial and error, dog training turned out to be much less complicated than I attempted to make it. What has evolved is a training philosophy based first and foremost on a strong relationship, followed by engagement, positive reinforcement, and fair corrections.

Having a well trained dog opened up the world in ways I never imagined possible. While out with my dogs, people took notice and began asking questions. I realized that after many years, what had become second nature for me, was not the case for so many others. I was reminded of that 14-year-old boy with Panda, and I realized I could help other dog owners to avoid the pain and struggle that I once faced myself. Hence, Mosaic K9.

I started Mosaic K9 based on the belief that dog training should never take a one-size-fits-all approach. While many companies rely on generic training methods regardless of a dog’s genetic makeup or your unique lifestyle, at Mosaic K9 I focus on tailoring techniques to fit each individual situation.
Whether you’ve just brought home a new puppy and want to build strong foundations, you're tired of your dog taking you for a walk, or you have an older dog in need of behavior modification, my goal is to provide the expertise that helps you and your dog live a happy and purposeful life together.
